Vice President JD Vance offered what one Democratic analyst described as a "depraved and soulless" response on Thursday to the murder of a U.S. citizen by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer.
ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who has allegedly been with the agency for a decade, shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Good on Wednesday while she was attempting to leave the scene of an ICE raid. Good's killing sparked protests in cities across the country, and also inspired a fierce debate about President Donald Trump's immigration operations.
Vance joined the White House press briefing on Thursday, where he blamed Good for her murder and said the ICE agents enjoy "absolute immunity" for their actions.
The vice president's statements enraged progressive YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen, who responded to the remarks in a new reaction video.
"It literally fills my body with rage to hear the Vice President of the United States say that an unarmed mom who just dropped her child off at school and who tried to drive away from a rogue ICE agent who subsequently shot her in the face is a 'tragedy of her own making' is a testament to the fact that there is no floor for these people," Cohen said. "JD Vance and his administration are depraved, soulless human beings. You cannot reason with them because they are beyond reason."
